About Dawn Watson

Dawn comes from Sunderland in the North East of England. From the age of 18 Dawn has run her own small business starting off making Children’s Clothes for various shops around the North East. She began working as a volunteer running children’s groups in the local community, mainly consisting of various crafts, she was then asked to run craft classes for adults with learning difficulties as the centre they attended was closing due to lack of funding. Dawn decided it would be a good idea to set up her own company and “Dawn till Dusk Crafts” was born. Starting off with a couple of classes a week it went from strength to strength, now running at least 5 classes a week. The classes and workshops are a social gathering where ladies, and a few men come along on a regular basis to meet up, have a chat, a coffee and of course craft. They share ideas and help each other with all kinds of things. Dawn feels these groups are significant to older people who have maybe retired or lost their partner, or simply looking to try something new, preventing them from feeling socially isolated, enabling them to make new friends and learn new skills.

Dawn also attends craft shows where she sells various craft items and kits. She also takes a mobile craft shop with her to the groups and workshops, this enables people to buy what they need, as they need it and in small quantities at affordable prices.

In May 2017 Dawn started to work on Create and Craft TV as a guest demonstrator. Here she can demonstrate her ideas to a wide audience. Mostly paper crafts and CD crafting she particularly loves using the dies that she demonstrates on TV. She also contributes to a craft magazine supplying step by step instructions for greeting cards using Creative Crafting World products.

In 2019 Dawn did her first cruise to Norway where the attendees at the classes( up to 30) had a great time doing various crafts that were themed to the cruise such as cards using animals from the area and aurora boreal beads etc.

Her latest cruise April 15 2022 on SAGA’s Spirit of Discovery was a complete success with wonderful projects completed.( See above for images)

Dawn can turn her hand to most kinds of crafts but specialises in papercrafts including scrapbooks and cardmaking and also jewellery making for all abilities.

Dawns aim is for attendees at her classes to take home something everytime so they are all stand alone classes.
