Michelle May, M.D., a physician and recovered yo-yo dieter, empowers individuals to live the vibrant life they crave. As an inspirational speaker and author, Michelle’s passion, insight, and humor stem from her professional experience and personal struggles with food and body image. She resolved her issues by developing a balanced, mindful approach to food, movement, and self-care—and now shares this process with others who want to improve their well-being too!

​Michelle is the founder of Am I Hungry?® (www.AmIHungry.com) Mindful Eating Programs and Training, available in 30 countries. She’s the award-winning author of the Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat book series and has been featured on Discovery Health Channel, Dr. Oz, and Oprah Radio and has been quoted in Cosmo, Fitness, Health, Parents, Prevention, Self, TIME, Woman’s Day, and other popular magazines. She earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation, delivering well over 500 highly-rated keynotes and workshops and inspiring tens of thousands of audience members with her compelling message and constructive approach to living a vibrant life.

​Dr. May was a Family Physician in Phoenix, Arizona with 16 years of clinical experience. She “retired” from practice to focus on other projects. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University and her Medical Degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. She completed a three-year Family Medicine Residency at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona where she served as Chief Resident.

​Michelle is Past-President of both the Arizona Academy of Family Physicians and the National Speakers Association-Arizona. She is an Associate Faculty member at Arizona State University, teaching Mindful Eating for Students.
