Commander John Lane OBE

Adventurer & South American Traveller & Published Best Selling Author & Story Teller

Bio

John Lane served afloat worldwide in the British Royal Navy for 35yrs, including onboard HM Yacht BRITANNIA.  Onshore he saw active service in the Malayan Emergency, was in Saudi Arabia for the Gulf War, and served in Libya with Colonel Gaddafi , and with the Sultan’s Armed Forces in Oman.
Subsequently specialising in humanitarian disaster response he worked in Tanzania with Burundi refugees, in Afghanistan with the HALO Trust, and with the International Red Cross in the Balkans War, in the Rwandan genocide, and in Armenia post-earthquake.  He undertook similar assignments in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somaliland, Belize, Bangladesh and Nagorno Karabagh, also in Northwest Frontier Province, Pakistan immediately after the SE Asia Earthquake.
