Art and Design

I have worked as a college lecturer, inspector and consultant in Art and Design education for many years. My passion is art history and I run a number of art appreciation groups for local associations that feature power point supported presentations on artists, school of paintings and eras.

I have a master’s degree in adult education I have spent many years working as a free-lance trainer in teacher education delivering art and design based training to secondary and college teachers which include textile based techniques and art and design delivery strategy.

I enjoy drawing and painting using mostly acrylics but some mix media in my spare time. I taught art and textile design to college students for many years and am confident in also presenting sessions on art and craft to adults if required. These including drawing, textile arts including felt, silk painting, patchwork, weave, beading and jewelry making, decoupage, card making,

I have worked abroad as part of a team setting up a teacher training college in Mansoura, Egypt and more recently as a consultant to the Education Council in Abu Dhabi.

I enjoy travel and have been on a number of cruises in recent years and would welcome the opportunity of being able to work on a cruise ship delivering talks on the subject I love.
